Laminate countertop cutter – Beveled edges are often associated with heavier, more expensive countertop materials such as concrete and granite, that are installed in one piece. Cutting a beveled edge of your laminate countertop cutter give your disks a sleeker appearance and contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal of your kitchen.
Instructions
Wedge the flat tip of a crowbar under the existing edge. Tap the end of the crowbar with a hammer. This drives the flat tip of the laminate edge and the counter frame. Pry existing edge away from the counter frame. Edge router tip sands away any laminate countertop cutter that remain, ensuring that all edges are smooth and leave a rough surface for the new edge to follow.
Attach a laminate trim blade to your power miter saw. Place the tip of the blade at an angle to the 90-degree joints between the worktop and the edge. The angle you choose is purely a matter of personal preference, but determines the angle of the finished beveled edge. Apply a generous amount of carpenter’s glue on the back of the laminate strip.
Point laminate strip edge with bench edge. Press the strip firmly over the edge, bending the laminate over the beveled edge. Remove glow tape after the glue dries. This takes about 10 minutes. Wipe off excess glue with a clean washcloth dipped in alcohol. Run fingers along upper and lower edges of the laminate strip to locate the rough spots. Gently smooth out any irregularities with a file.
